An Olive Branch...or ??? My Public Response To Kimmer's Offer

I received an interesting email last night from Kimmer. In it was an apology for acting in haste and banning me from the Kimkins website, along with an offer to re-instate my access. I wanted to make my response to her public so that there would be no confusion as to my intentions.

Kimmer,

Thank you so much for your kind gesture. Kimkins has been my online home now for almost a year (October 2 was my join date). I have many many friends there that I care about deeply and would love to contact. However, my questions still remain unanswered. I know many good people who asked the same questions I did and were also banned.

Until my questions are answered honestly and completely, and unless those friends are shown the same gesture, I am afraid I cannot accept. Like I have said before, this is indeed a sad situation, and I do not know what the future holds for any of us, but whatever happens, I only pray that the TRUTH will set all of us free.

Christin

Brava!

That was an honorable response to a dishonorable offer.

Christin, I'm so glad you stood up for what you believe in. I made my concerns known through PMs and posts, and now I've been banned without refund, too. I'm very disappointed in Kimmer's lack of integrity. I stopped doing the diet a while ago because I wasn't feeling well, but kept using the site to stay in touch with friends I made there. I've been contacted outside the board by a few, so we can KIT.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it if you, Deni, and Becky joined up and started your own site!!! You guys MADE Kimkins the wonderful community that it was.

I think what KK demonstrated was that people want a loving, supportive online environment for weight loss. I don't even think it matters what plan you're using.

I do hope you'll consider it! Hang in there and keep up the good fight!!!

Christin,

You've shown nothing but class during this debacle.

As Becky said, "Brava!"

I think she must have remembered that old adage:

"Keep your enemies close" She's been kicking off the wrong people and she is just figuring that out.

You are definitely not the enemy - but she perceives you that way. Now she wants you back in her view.....

You made the right move my dear friend. I must also say you are too sweet in your reply!!!! That's what makes you so special!

I'm sure she would love to reinstate you over there, after all, she is still using her as one of her poster children on the homepage, and how does it look to have you out here speaking the truth? You are wise to see through her "offer" as nothing more than an attempt to find a way to control you, and to keep her crumbling empire together. There is power in the truth!

Christin, you came to my blog shortly before leaving kimkins and stated you felt "I GOT IT" and had the power to meet my goals. I am still using basic kimkins to reach my goal and I am still being followed by a doctor in this pursuit. I feel so sorry that you felt the need to leave, but I respect your decision thoroughly. It saddens me that there has been so much turmoil for something that has obviously worked for so many people. There remain so many people in the forums that daily comment on their support for you and wish you would return. I know you are feeling wounded by all the information that has surfaced in the past week and I would like to soothe your mind of much of your greif. There are many self proclaimed diet gurus in this world. Many that start their "practice" with absolutely no nutritional background whatsoever, and many of them are recognized highly amongst the diet community regardless of their lack of medical accredidation. There are trials to all diets and unfortunately there will be people who will not find success with their choices. Do not blame yourself or allow the words that were so flagrantly thrown at you in the past make you feel down for what you helped to accomplish while you were part of kimkins. You gave support and empathy, and that is a fundemental need for any dieter. If I had nothing else to go on besides what I know now, the forum support is the one thing that would keep me going and help me to attain my goal.
I will never visit the LC forum again because I have seen nothing but hatred reach out and spread from there, even beyond the kimkins threads. Unfortunately while we are all on the same weightloss team it seems like more of a boxing match there and there just is no comfort level to be had. Hold your head high Christin and I hope I will see you again some day. Take Care, Much Love to you always!

Christin, I'm so proud of you for standing up for what is RIGHT! And I'm happy you, Deni, Becky and others have found a home in my "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Discussion" forum. You guys have so much to offer in the form of love and support that it would have been a shame to lose you. Welcome to the next phase of your journey. :D

She didn't voluntarily "leave" the site. She was banned. Big difference.

Christin, I absolutely respect you, Deni, Becky and everyone else who saw the light, finally.
