Forgiveness and Clarity

Due to the events over the last few days it is important to me to re-visit what the intention of my blog is. The title of my musings is “The Journey.” I began by taking the road less traveled and it has rarely taken me where I thought I would ever go. There have been tears, fears, excitements, joys, ups and downs, twists and turns. Many times the journey has resembled a roller coaster instead of a road. But, none-the-less, it is my journey to reconciliation and life after Kimkins.

Part of my journey has been a steady plea to those still involved in the program to recognize the deceptions that have taken place and are continuing to be prevalent within Heidi Diaz’ statements and business practices. It has never been my intention to attack any one person for falling prey to those deceptions. I only plead with them to listen to reason and to open their eyes to the possibility that they too may have been taken in.

I was reflecting over my journey for the last few months and came across this post: “The Excellence of Love” in which I go over a passage from 1 Corinthians 13. I am instructed to love. Love and forgiveness are the foundations of what gives my life purpose and clarity. They are what my Lord offers to me when I by no means deserve it. Who am I then, to withhold it from anyone else who has offended or done wrong by me? I cannot, because it goes against who I am and who God desires me to be.

This weekend I have communicated with the now former PR director of Kimkins, Jeannie Baitinger. She expressed to me her great grief over her involvement with Heidi Diaz. The following is an excerpt from a note she left me this morning:

“I was wrong to accuse you of any wrong doings. In fact, I can never apologize to you enough. You did say you forgive me and that means more to me than anything.”

“I will do everything I can to cooperate fully with John Teidt and that is a promise.”

“Your warmth and generosity really is amazing. I never expected you of all people to be there for me, yet there you were. I didn't deserve it at all… I was wrong, so wrong.”

Nehemiah 9:21
“But thou art a God of forgiveness. Gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness. And thou didst not forsake them.”

Jeannie, as we discussed, there are many questions to answer, and much to bring to light. I do forgive you, and without forgiveness, the path to our understanding would be foggy and indiscernible. Our clarity begins with an open heart.

I have lost access to the site recently, but with any luck I would like to think there was a bigger reason for Jeannie Baitinger to stay in there as long as she did.

Perhaps her trying to defend the diet, only to suddenly disappear will send a much bigger message to the remaining members.

She did have some people who looked up to her, and I hope they will really start to wonder...

Christin you are a wonderful person to forgive so fully. I am taking a page from your good book and looking inside myself to find the forgiveness for Jeannie as well. There has to be a reason for her participation in Kimkins and I do hope she helps prevent any more people from joining the site.

Jeannie if you are reading this you did the right thing by apologizing to Christin and if you cooperate with Mr Tiedt that would be wonderful.

Please let your heart guide you and face the low carb community with an acknowledgment of your role and a genuine apology. I promise I will search my heart to follow Christin's example and I know many more will as well.

The first step is the biggest and you have taken it.

Christin you are still in my prayers! Take care of yourself.

I applaude Jeannie for having the courage to step forward and say she was wrong. I certainly hold no hard feelings towards her and want her to know she's welcome in my "neck of the woods" anytime. Bless you Christin for extending open arms to her!

Thank you Christin for being the person you are. I know that I have made some bad choices that I wish I could take back, but I worked hard at trying to make amends the best way I could. Those affected have forgiven me and I am so grateful. I too give forgiveness as freely as it has been given to me. Sometimes it is not easy, but God reminds me of the forgiveness that has been extended to me.

Tippy, I am so glad that you are helping with the law suit. I know it is so hard to admit being wrong or just how wrong we have been. I am praying for you. Do what is right from this point on that is what counts now.

If Tippy contacts the producers of the show she was on and takes back some of the things she said then that would be a start. She can tell them that as a PR Director she had to talk the diet up but she really believes the diet is very un-healthy especially the low calories that was pushed.

Thank you, Christin. I will begin to answer those questions. I have started a blog and it can be found here: http://tippytoes--thestory.blogspot.com/

I am publishing the link provided here by Jeannie to her new blog so that she can answer questions in her own words. I wanted to preface however, as Becky said this morning - I do not endorse all she has done, or is doing, or will do, I am sure. She is very much her own person, and follows her own counsel.

Jeannie, I am very pleased that you have been able to recognize the issues with Heidi and the diet as it is written. I only pray that you will continue to have this same clarity in your future endeavors.

Jeannie has pulled the first post she made.

Christin, are you taking care of yourself?

I read the Thanksgiving post and I was a bit concerned. Most of the people who have joined the Kimkins program are desperate to lose weight and of course, the program seems sooooo easy. Fine.

I also know that most of them (I am still a member) know about the controversy and are staying with the plan! They are grown ups and chose to stick with it. Its their choice (my choice).

I hope that you are taking care of yourself.
